Earth Satellite Corp. Renamed MDA Federal Inc.

As part of a broad re-branding initiative by its parent company, MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA), Earth Satellite Corp., of Rockville, MD, is being renamed MDA Federal Inc. From now on, the company will conduct its business under the common brand name "MDA."

Acquired by MDA in 2001, Earth Satellite Corp. is a leading provider of geospatial information products and services to the defense, intelligence, resource management, weather and mapping markets.

"This will better position us to offer the full range of MDA's capabilities to our clients," said Douglas Hall, president of MDA Federal. "In addition to EarthSat's leading-edge geospatial information products, MDA offers a broad spectrum of earth and space-based information solutions, ranging from complex operational systems to tailored information services to electronic information products. Many of MDA's customers are increasingly focused on procuring complete solutions from a well-known, trusted supplier, and these solutions are dependent on a mix of space systems, ground systems, and information services."

MDA Federal will continue to maintain all the operations and staff currently residing within EarthSat, and the renaming involves no structural changes.

MDA provides advanced information solutions that capture and process vast amounts of data, produce essential information, and improve the decision making and operational performance of business and government organizations worldwide. MDA employs more than 2,500 people in locations across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
